Understanding the Menopause
Many of us are taken unawares by the strange things happening to our mind, body and spirits during the menopause. We wonder or even worry whether we have early dementia because we can’t remember names, events, the end of a sentence, or even what we went into the next room for.
There are a whole range of different symptoms that women can suffer with, as listed in the table below. And yes, many lucky women sail though it, but a considerable proportion of us don’t, in fact, the menopause turns our lives upside down.
Historically there has been a conspiracy of silence surrounding the menopause. But thank goodness we are now starting to talk about it openly. Several celebrities have also helpfully ‘come out’ about their menopausal struggle. Thank goodness it’s no longer a taboo subject and we don’t need to suffer in silence anymore.
