JESUS’ LOCKDOWN BOOTCAMP
The coronavirus has been described as the ‘invisible enemy’, but there is another invisible enemy banging on the door of our minds. That enemy is known as the accuser - the father of lies. Current research shows that an increasing number of people are suffering anxiety as a result of lockdown. So how do we deal with the negative thoughts and accusatory voices in our heads? Jesus showed us how - in His dealings with the accuser in the desert. Jesus overcame the devil with the words “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.’” It is therefore vital not only to study God’s Word but to speak it aloud - especially during these challenging times
We’ve been in a kind of desert wilderness, so there’s much to learn from how Jesus stood up to the devil. You might like to study 📖 Luke 4:1-13 reading it through slowly and reflectively several times. See if any words or phrases become highlighted for you. Then pray and ask God to reveal what He might be saying to you through those words.
